In 1979 I moved my small family to Eureka Springs to build a better life. My wife and I had a young daughter at the time.
On a weekend trip to Eureka Springs we found an ad in the local paper, needing carpenters for a project called, Thorncrown Chapel.
I was hired and began my learning adventure working for over a year on the now famous structure, both as a carpenter’s apprentice and a glazing apprentice, helping to cut and set all the glass in the structure.
That was my introduction to carpentry and glazing as a means of earning a living and creating beautiful structures that would last a lifetime. After a couple more years of paying dues, I got my commercial contractors license and worked on both residential and commercial projects in the local area.
Some of my projects over the years were working for many of the Historic businesses in Eureka Springs.
They include The Eureka Springs Dinner Train, The Basin Park Hotel, The Palace Bathhouse, The Crescent Hotel, the first building for the Clear Spring School and many residential remodels.
In 1994 I made a career change due to market conditions and went into the manufacturer’s representative field. I represented window and door manufacturers to the lumber yard market for 23 years and sold products across five different states.
In 2019 I decided to focus my attention on Pella Windows and Doors, but as much as I enjoyed working in this field, I knew that my true calling was Construction.
I craved using my hands again, creating something from what was once nothing.
I knew it was time to make a change and so, Rivers Edge Remodeling and Construction was born. I retired from working for Pella and struck out again.
Together, with my daughter Terra, we are building a new business.
Based on years of experience, in multiple disciplines, we have the skills to create unique designs that stand out from the competition.
